Senior Master Sergeant (Ret.) Robert Willbanks is a 24 year Air Force veteran who served as a Hydraulics Mechanic and Aerospace Systems supervisor. He enlisted in 1961, was involved in combat mission during the Vietnam War and retired in 1985. Willbanks feels strongly that the Air Force has so much to offer. “There are so many variables that you have to handle throughout your tours. You have to deal with so many personalities and situations. It teaches you so much about yourself,” said Willbanks. “If I could give advice about going into the Air Force, I would say go for it! Education is where it’s at, get all the education that you can and learn through all your mentors.”
After retiring from the Air Force, Willbanks worked for the Air Force as a civil servant aircraft Components Part Quality Control Inspector. He is currently living with his wife Jerre in Layton, Utah.
