Maj. (Ret.) William McBride joined the Air Force in 1988, following the footsteps of his older brother. After 13 years as an enlisted personnel systems manager, McBride applied for Officer Training School. After he was selected, McBride led Airmen as a communications officer and cyber operations officer. Throughout his 26-year career, he deployed numerous times to various locations such as Kenya, Iraq, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain. He also volunteered for a one-year assignment at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar. McBride retired in 2015 and moved to Niceville, Florida and is proud of his service and used the lessons learned in the military. McBride continues to work for the government as an IT support contractor for an Air Force acquisition organization at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida.
