Craig Bergman

Chief Master Sgt. (Ret.) Craig Bergman joined the Air Force in 1970, and after a short break in service from active duty, Bergman joined the Air Force Reserve as part the 302nd Special Operations Squadron at Luke Air Force Base, Arizona. It was there he discovered helicopters – he was hooked. As a career helicopter maintainer, Bergman’s passion for special operations swelled. He and four fellow citizen Airmen established the 71st Special Operations Squadron at Davis-Monthan AFB, Arizona. Over the years Bergman deployed to Honduras, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, El Salvador, Venezuela, Canada, several locations in Europe and many other places around the world. He served a total of 33 years before retiring Oct. 21, 2007. He now volunteers speaking at local schools on patriotism, citizenship, constitution and the Bill of Rights.
