Dan Quasius Senior Master Sgt. (Ret.) Dan Quasius followed in his father’s footsteps when he enlisted in the Air Force, but he never imagined it would last 33 years. While assigned to Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea in 1982, an incentive flight on a KC-135 Stratotanker inspired Quasius to cross-train and become a boom operator. During his career, he flew on KC-135s and KC-10s and participated in Operations El Dorado Canyon, Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Just Cause and Iraqi Freedom. The biggest highlight of his career was spending three years refueling the SR-71 Blackbird. Quasius used his education benefits to earn a master’s degree, and worked as a physical therapist at the University of California Davis Medical Center. “If it wasn’t for the support I received from my co-workers and supervisors, I wouldn’t have been able to commit to the 70th Air Refueling Squadron and Air Force Reserve for so long, and I am forever grateful,” he said.
