Robert “Bo” Brown

Robert “Bo” Brown joined the Air Force in 1971 to be a mechanic; little did he know by the end of his career he’d be making history as part of the Presidential Airlift Group. Brown started his career in aircraft maintenance at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, North Carolina, working on the KC-135 for eight years. His drive and unassuming attitude resulted in a by-name request to move to Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland, where he joined the PAG in 1983. While on the PAG, Brown served President Ronald Reagan, President George H. W. Bush and President Bill Clinton. Upon his retirement in 1998 as a chief master sergeant, he was personally thanked by President Clinton on Air Force One, where his retirement flag was proudly flown. After a fulfilling 26-year career, Brown is now the facilities manager for the hangars at JB Andrews, overseeing dozens of high-level ceremonies occurring there annually.
